Fethiye, one of Turkey’s most stunning holiday destinations, is famous not only for its turquoise waters and sandy beaches but also for its adrenaline-pumping adventure activities. A true paradise for outdoor enthusiasts, Fethiye offers unforgettable experiences with its mountains, canyons, crystal-clear waters, and unique geography.
1. Tandem Paragliding: Flying from Babadağ to Ölüdeniz
The most iconic adventure in Fethiye is undoubtedly paragliding. Taking off from the 1,969-meter summit of Babadağ and gliding towards the turquoise lagoon of Ölüdeniz, this is considered one of the best paragliding spots in the world.
The Experience:
An unforgettable 20-40 minute flight.
Tandem flights with professional pilots.
360-degree panoramic views of Fethiye.
In-flight photos and videos via GoPro.
Best Time: Babadağ allows flying 12 months a year. From April to November, daily clothes are usually sufficient. However, in April and October, we recommend bringing a long-sleeved top for early morning or sunset flights. Responsible pilots usually carry spare layers for their passengers, but your photos look best in your own style!
Level: Suitable for everyone; no prior experience required.
Important Notes: Subject to weather conditions. Comfortable clothing and sneakers are highly recommended.
2. Boat Tours: Exploring the Gulf of Fethiye
One of the most popular ways to experience the Mediterranean is through the magnificent boat tours operating in the gulf. These full-day trips offer both relaxation and discovery.
The 12 Islands Tour
Named after the numerous large and small islands in the gulf, this tour stops at various bays depending on weather conditions.
Itinerary Highlights: Knight Island, Red Island, Göbün Bay, Yassıca Islands, Tersane Island, and Aquarium Bay.
Activities: Swimming in turquoise waters, snorkeling, sunbathing, and a delicious BBQ lunch on board.
Ölüdeniz & Butterfly Valley Tour
A favorite for nature lovers, this route explores the most spectacular natural beauties of the region.
Route: Departs from Ölüdeniz Beach, visiting the Blue Cave, Butterfly Valley, St. Nicholas Island, Cold Water Bay, and Camel Beach.
Special Experience: A 30-minute hike to the waterfall in Butterfly Valley. Best visited in April-May for butterflies or September-October for the perfect beach vibe.
Private Boat Charters
For a more exclusive experience (6-18 people), you can charter a private boat. Set your own route, spend as much time as you like in your favorite bays, and enjoy a dedicated crew.
3. ATV Safari: An Off-Road Adventure
Explore the rural landscapes and mountain paths of Fethiye from a different perspective.
Routes: Mountain Safari (around Kayaköy), Beach Safari (hidden coves), or Romantic Sunset Tours.
